Fees
We are a 'not for profit' organisation and we strive to keep our fees as low as possible to encourage participation in aikido.
It is important that members accept their responsibility to pay fees correctly and on time.
Fees are based on which classes the member is training in. Our structure provides for 3 different groups
Chibi
- Students up to the age of 8 years. Two 30 minute classes each week are available during school term time
- These students follow a specially designed syllabus comprising 7 grades where the emphasis is on balance, co-ordination, confidence and working together rather than specific aikido techniques
Juniors
- Students 8 to 12 years who train Only in the Junior classes. The upper age limit for attending these classes is 15
- Two 1 hour classes each week are available during term time
- These students follow a specially designed syllabus comprising 10 grades. The highest grade in this system is equal to the adult 6th Kyu rank
- A full range of aikido techniques are covered plus some basic weapons exercises. In addition we encourage students to learn the Japanese terminology and to think a little more deeply about aspects of aikido like history, safety and appropriate use of what they are learning.
Adults
Within this group we foster awareness, confidence, teamwork and leadership
- The lowest age to enter this group is 12 years though some juniors may delay entering adult classes if they are physically small or lacking in confidence.
- There are a range of classes available for this group and classes continue through the school holidays.
- This group follow the adult syllabus of the Institute of Aikido New Zealand which provides for 6 Kyu grade ranks in the lead up to black belt.
Term Fees (Chibi)
$60/term for each child. Fees will be calculated on a pro rata basis if starting later in the term.
Term Fees (Juniors)
Adults (Includes everyone 12 years and older attending adult classes)
